Rodex Mechatronics at Electronica 2026
Rodex Mechatronics will exhibit at Electronica 2026, taking place from 10–13 November 2026 at Messe München, as part of the Slovenian presentation supported by SPIRIT Slovenia.
Electronica brings together the entire electronics industry, from components and manufacturing technologies to complete systems and solutions, making it an ideal environment to meet customers and partners looking for new manufacturing capabilities.
At Electronica, Rodex will present its capabilities as a manufacturing partner for complex mechatronic assemblies.
We combine in-house toolmaking, technical plastic injection moulding, precision coil winding and electromagnetic expertise with customer-specified PCBA integration, assembly and functional testing. Our vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities help reduce supplier interfaces and provide customers with one responsible partner from industrialization to serial production.
Visitors will also be able to see examples of our assembly experience from payment systems and a medicine device from the start-up environment, demonstrating how different technologies and components can be integrated into a complete functional product.

Last week, I visited PCIM Europe 2026 in Nuremberg, one of the leading exhibitions for power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy and energy management technologies.
Beyond the impressive technologies on display, PCIM provided insights into current market developments, investment priorities and supply chain trends.

Discussions with suppliers of materials, manufacturing equipment and testing solutions confirmed that many companies remain focused on automation, efficiency improvements and supply chain resilience.

A recurring topic was the increasing tendency of OEMs to outsource coil winding and electromagnetic assembly production. Key drivers include the shortage of skilled employees, loss of specialized know-how, limited investment budgets and the desire to focus on core competencies – R&D + Final Assy + Sales.

Many leading plastic IM companies continue to face strong pressure on CAPEX investments, particularly in tooling. Companies are constantly evaluating the balance between in-house manufacturing, local EU outsourcing and global sourcing strategies – China.
🔹 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿
The influence of the defence sector was clearly visible. Increased defence spending, new development programs and EU-supported initiatives are creating opportunities across multiple industrial supply chains.

Power electronics, energy efficiency (cooling!) and intelligent energy management remain key investment areas. The innovation landscape demonstrated how rapidly technologies are evolving to support future industrial and energy applications.
For us at Rodex Mechatronics, the visit confirmed that our competencies in toolmaking, plastic injection moulding, coil winding and electromechanical assembly are well aligned with current market requirements.
The most important outcome ➡️ several promising opportunities were identified within both power module applications and industrial sensing solutions.

After this year’s SPS – Smart Production Solutions, the answer is pretty simple: 𝗻𝗼❗
The Rodex team – Milos Petkovic, Matjaž Dolinar and Jaka Toplak – just returned from Nürnberg, all with the same takeaway: the halls were full, and people were there because things are moving, not slowing down.
Data backs it up — industrial automation is still growing at ~9% CAGR and is on track to rise from about €199B in 2025 to more than €266B by 2029. AI, IIoT and reshoring are pushing the momentum.
One segment that rarely gets the spotlight but is growing the fastest?
✅ 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆.
Inductive proximity sensors alone are growing at around 11% YoY.
The reason is simple: smart factories need far more reliable, high-precision detection points than ever before.

“Oh, I remember you – you presented Rodex Mechatronics and technical professions in our class back in primary school!”
That’s what a student said to us with a smile as he approached our booth at the Building Careers Together event at ŠC Škofja Loka. Two years ago, we visited his 9th-grade class and talked about technical careers. Today, he is in his second year of studying mechanical engineering.
Moments like these remind us how important it is to connect with young people early – even during primary school. Not to persuade them, but to inspire them. To show them how exciting and creative the world of technology can be.
“If we inspire even one student, that’s a win,” said our director Milos Petkovic, whose presence at the event reaffirmed the importance of encouraging young people to consider technical careers.

Moving production from Asia back to Europe is often more complex than it first appears:
